Location(s): Upper St. Clair, PA; Bradenton, FL

Compensation Type: Salary, with PTO and Benefits Included

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Primary responsibility will consist of offering one-on-one nutrition counseling in an office setting
  • Participate in team and care coordination meetings with RDs and other relevant professionals
  • Coordinates all phases of nutrition care such as planning menu cycles, calculating diets and providing nutritional supplements as needed
  • Conducts evaluation and assessment of clients nutritional needs
  • Maintains current knowledge on regulations impacting food handling and reporting any incidents
  • Supports clients, and caregivers, throughout their nutrition journey with regular check-ins, coordination of appointments, and the development of a personalized plan

Required Skills & Characteristics:

  • Self-starter with good communication, leadership and administrative skills
  • Comfortable and confident supporting clients of all ages (adults and children) who present with dietary needs ranging from chronic disease and sports performance to disordered eating and digestive concerns
  • A person-centered treatment and coaching philosophy
  • Effective charting and time management
  • A strong desire to meet clients where they are

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical nutrition, client facing position
  • Preferred: One year of experience in a private practice environment

Education Requirements:

  • A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a trained nutrition professional who has met the strict educational and experiential standards set forth by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Masters Degree (preferred)
  • Active CDR
  • Active PA RDN License

Additional Requirements:

  • Professional Liability Insurance for RDN

A Case Specific Administrative Professional is empowered and supported to achieve the highest degree of professional and personal growth. Our team is growing and we’re looking for someone who has medical billing experience and a desire to learn dietitian and disease prevention billing. We recognize these services are not commonly billed in most settings, and therefore we are prepared to train someone who has a background in billing regardless of their experience with dietitian billing. Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday. 8am-4pm. No weekends.

Location(s): Orientation training in-person (Plum, PA), then remote.

In-person training may take several weeks and considerations will be discussed with applicants.

This opportunity will include the following:

  • Reviewing client medical bills for accuracy and completeness.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims for Case Specific’s dietitian and disease prevention
    practice.
  • Following up on unpaid claims.
  • Checking each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance.
  • Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments.
  • Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.
  • Running payment reports.
  • Working closely with our Office Administrator (our primary biller) and assisting them asrequested.

Secondary responsibilities may include:

  • Answering the phone, responding to emails, and replying to online inquiries.
  • Acquiring all necessary client information to run an insurance eligibility check and confirm coverage prior to scheduling.
  • Working closely with Office Manager and RDs to schedule patients in a timely manner.
  • Obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations as required for registered dietitian services.

In addition to these general duties, you may be requested to perform other duties that fit your trainingand background experience.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school diploma/GED.
  • A minimum of one year of experience with medical billing & coding

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections.
  • Customer service skills for interacting with patients regarding medical claims and payments, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds.
  • Medical billing knowledge.
  • A calm manner and patience working with either patients or insurers during this process.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and AccountabilityAct of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer
    requirements and systems.
  • Competent use of computer systems, software, and electronic health record platforms.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment. Being able to triage priorities, delegate tasks if needed, and handle conflict in a reasonable fashion.
