My name is Shannon Raymond, and I am a Registered Dietitian. I am passionate about helping people learn how to properly nourish themselves by teaching skills and setting goals to create behavior changes that last a lifetime. Healthful nutrition is such a powerful method of preventative medicine, and it helps reverse or lessen the severity of some diseases. Even in ancient times, Hippocrates said, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”. (one of my favorite quotes!)
I received my bachelors degree in nutrition and dietetics from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pa. I was also a student athlete, playing basketball and competing in track and field. I enjoy yoga and completed yoga teacher training at Moonglow Yoga in Greensburg.
I previously taught nutrition education in grades pre-k to 8th in schools around the Pittsburgh area. I have also worked with athletes competing in the Division I collegiate level. I currently work in nutrition counseling with people of all ages with a variety of health conditions. It is so rewarding to help people become healthier versions of themselves resulting from true lifestyle changes.
